Using WinXP & Outlook 2000. Created .pst file for Outlook personal folders.
When attempt to copy to blank cd, receive error message saying Windows
problem occurred. What can I do to burn this pst file onto a cd? I need to
back this up before I can install a new c drive. Thanks for any assistance.

What is the error? Is outlook running? If so, then it needs to be
shutdown before you can copy the file. Plus sometimes the file needs to
be on the PC to be able to burn it (not on a network drive).

Thanks, Dan. Once I closed Outlook, I was able to copy my .pst to a cd.
Thanks again.

If you have burned it to a CD-ROM, Outlook won't be able to import it,
because the file will have read-only attributes set and you won't be able to
change them on the CD. Use a CD-RW, floppy or your hard drive. If you've
already burned the CD, then copy the file onto your computer and change the
attributes. Right-click the file on your computer, click Properties and
remove the check mark from read-only.

Now Outlook will be able to import it.
