Why don't my attachments send when I perform an email merge in Out

I'm sending a mass mailing via email in outlook. I need to attach files to
the email. I select the attachments and they appear to be there when I send
the email, but the recipients don't receive them. What's going on?

Mail merges have never supported attachments. You need third party
applications for that.
