When I am online, and open the windows mail program, it acts like it cannot
sense that the connection is open. It closes ithe connection, then asks if
I want to make a connection. It drives me crazy. (Yes, I am still using a
slow dial up. Out in the sticks there are not many choices.) Any ideas to
get the program to read that the connection is already open?
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Go to tools>accounts>your account>properties>connection tab, remove the
check mark from 'always connect using'>Apply/OK.

Tools>options>connection tab, ensure that 'ask before switching connections'
is selected.

Get back if that does not solve it for you?

I had done all before with no success EXCEPT for the last suggestion. That
did the trick. Thanks a bunch! All is well again.
