Windows Mail

I am running Windows Mail on Vista. Somehow it has gotten the idea that I
want to connect via a dial-up connection and I have been unable to find a way
to correct it. I am connected via a wireless network. IE runs just fine but
Windows Mail gives me a dial-up popup and asks me what service I want to
connect to. Since there are no services listed, I click cancel and that kills
the receive command completely.

PA Bear,

Nope, doesn't work. When I try to go through this sequence Mail locks up
(Not Responding) To clear this up I have to restart Windows Mail.

If the program locks up when you go to the Connection tab,
it means that account is corrupted. Delete that account, restart
Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

To prevent this from happening in the future, make sure that email
scanning in your antivirus is turned off,
Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
