My computer has a built in compact flash reader. I have always kept the
flash card its slot. But beginning a week ago, for some unknown reason,
when I start the computer, Windows Explorer opens automatically and now
shows the contents of this drive. I don't want this to happen. Anyone know
how to turn it off? Thank you.

Well.... I was really hoping you would get an answer to this one as I have the same problem except mine comes up in D:\program files

I will hold out hope you get one as I think I can use it.

I found my problem. I am afraid it is not going to help you but you may be able to pick up something from mine. I had installed winXP pro as a dual boot to my win98 Laptop. I am new to the dual boot thing and had my second HDD as a data drive. So that was the one I loaded winXP pro to. Well it being a data drive already had a "Program Files" folder on it with Norton Systemworks in that folder that was for my win98 install. I was going to re-install it for winXP and realizing I would have to have another copy of NSW I decided to put it into a folder called "Program Files 2". That must have been too much for windows and caused it to bring up Windows Explorer showing the d:\program files folder. Anyway as soon as I un-installed NSW the problem went away. I re-installed NSW under the directory "XP Programs" and the problem has not returned.
