why does outlook hang on "send/receive complete" ?

On receiving email in outlook 2003 the send/receive complete keeps going for
up to 10 mins, freezing the page.I had no problems until 2 days ago & have
not changed any settings. Can anyone help?

I would suspect your antivirus might be causing this. See if there is an
update at their site. Also try a Detect & Repair on the OL Help menu.
