why does Outlook automatically resend large messages?

When I send an email which has a large attachment, Outlook keeps resending
the same email until I manage to seize control over it. How can I get
Outlook to behave better?

How can I get Outlook to behave better?

1) Disable any mail scanning, particularly of outgoing messages
2) Increase the send/receive interval to at least ten minutes
3) Increase the server timeout value for your account.

Please help. My outlook is at a crawl. Problem is that I tried to attach a
file that was 145Mb. I guess it won't go through. That's OK. But how do I
get it out of outlook now? Every time I bring up outlook, it still tries to
send it. Uses too many resources and I cannot function. When I say 5
minutes to open another email, I mean it! I see it in my outbox but I
selected right-click, delete and it doesn't do anything at all. I have
cleaned up everything else in outlook that I know to do but I need to get rid
of this file so the rest of my email will work.

Click File and check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. Delete the
message in Outbox. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

Follow the advice in the message you quoted.
