Why does one computer allow multiple instances of MS Outlook and minedoes not?

I've got Outlook installed on 4 computers in our office and I noticed
yesturday that my Boss's computer can launch multiple instances of
Outlook. He often double clicks on quick launch buttons and in this
case it launced 2 instances of Outlook. Click it 4 times and he's got
4 instances running on his screen and showing on the task bar, each
showing the inbox.

My computer does not allow this, clicking the outlook icon multiple
times does NOT launch multiple instances.

Can anyone explain this behavior? I would prefer that it DOES NOT
launch multiple instances as inexperienced users get confused when
there are MI of the same program.

Check the properties on the Quick Launch shortcut for Outlook.

"...\Program Files\Microsoft Office...\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle

.....will use a single instance of the Outlook Window. Removing that
"/recycle" switch will open multiple Outlook Windows.
