Why does my video go blank in powerpoint when clicked?

When I embed a vidoe, it appears normal ontil I play the slide show and click
on the video object. I have tried to turn off the video accelerator and
reduced my screen resolution. I am not using a projector... using a sony
laptop.

Any suggestions.
