Videos come as a black rectangle on the LCD projector

Hi,
we often make PowerPoint Presentations in which we insert videos. These
videos playback fine on the laptop display, but if connected to a LCD
projector, we get a black rectangle in place of the videos.
This problem has happened on multiple occasions and with different
projectors. I read through the help, saying that we try lowering the
resolution of the laptop as well as disable hardware acceleration. None of
that has helped.
The videos play fine on the projector if played through the Media Player.
Could you please help resolve.
