videos in the slide that will work with projectors

I need help with the following:
I use to create power point presentations where I include videos.
These videos are posted in a quarter of the slide and are synchronized with
some animations on the slide.
The videos I include are MPG1 and they work fine when the power point
presentation is showing on a computer.
When I try to use a projector the videos do not appear in the slide and
start later showing first a black screen and showing the resolution of the
videos.
How can I have them working inside of the slide as they work when viewing in
the computer?
My Power Point version is 2003
