Why does my autocorrect not save when I reopen Word 2003

I have Word 2003 and 2002 installed on different computers running Windows XP
and the Autocorrect works perfectly, in that, when I open Word, all my
autocorrect entries that I have added are saved. It just does not work on
one particular machine.

I have reinstalled Word 2003 twice and even installed Word 2002, with the
same results, the autocorrect only works for as long as Word remains open.
Once I close off the application and then re-open it, all my new autocorrect
enteries are gone.

For example, I am trying to save co2 in autocorrect to show as CO(2)
subscript, but when I add it in autocorrect it only works for as long as MS
Word is opened. Once I close off the application and re-open it, the CO(2)
subscript is no longer there and it shows up as I have typed it co2 (no
correction).

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this particular problem since I know it
works in Word 2002 and 2003, it just does not work on one of my computers.
Could this be a registry error?

Thanks.
Sabrina

Is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 installed on the one particular machine? If
yes, then the Acrobat 7.0 Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for
Word prevents Word from automatically saving changes to the
normal.dot template (which is where formatted autocorrect entries
are stored). See
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331259.html for several
solutions to the problem.
