why does it take so long to load my personal settings?

When I log onto XP, it usually takes around 3-4mins to get past the 'loading
personal settings' screen. On my other computer, this process takes less than
10 seconds.

Any suggestions greatly welcome.

Have you scanned for a virus and spyware?

Hey, I have got the same problem since a 'repair'. See my post above,
re: Repaired WinXP is so sloooow.
And I don't have a internet connection since that, albeit I have scanned
for malware and virii, and system is clean.

Hope you find a fix, and I'll let you know if I do.

Thanks

Hi

I've got a similar problem: When I log in, it doesn't even say "loading your
personal settings", and I have to wait for some mins.
Only when I press ctrl-alt-delete the "loading ..." thing comes up, and from
then on things are as usual. Does it say "loading your personal settings" on
your computer?

Regards
Benjamin
