why does it say dial up when i have broadband

on my settings for connection to internet,under my default what i
use(speedtouch)its under the heading dial up,and under the connection my isp
it has the heading broadband.i am a broadband user so how do i swap these
about,so its says that speedtouch is under broadband.as far as i know i am
not dialing up,as i have checked my phone bill,so do i have to change this,or
can i keep it the way it is,either way i would still like to know how to do
it.thankyou

That is an external modem, and seen therefore by the system as a dial up
one (usually in that case an ISDN adapter), even though it is broadband.
Dial up is a method, not a speed
