Why do some spam emails not being deleted even when Rules created?

I am repeatedly receiving emails from a sender "Doctor" with subject line
"online pharmaceuticals' or something similar. I have created various rules
to have these permanently deleted but the emails seem to be immune to the
rules. The rules I have created include deleting from: 1) specific sender 2)
with specific subject line 3) with work pharmaceuticals anywhere in body,
etc. How are these jerks managing to get around the rules and is there
anything I can do to deal with them?

Thanks,
VanZiggy

They are very clever and manage to bypass your rules. What version of
Outlook are you using? HAve you tried SpamBayes? Are your junk rules set
to high?

Hi Milly,

Thanks for your response. I am using 2002 version. No I haven't tried
SpamBayes. I was looking for an answer to why existing tools in Outlook don't
work not to get other software.

Best,
VanZiggy

two biggest reasons: 'in the body' rules only work well on plain text and
rules kick in after outlook begin downloading (when first started). Also,
too many rules or conditions make a less rule less accurate.

If you are using Outlook 2002, a 3rd party spam filter is much better than
using rules and trying to keep the keywords updated.

Outlook has tools that work to a limited extent in Outlook 2002. I use what
works to keep spam at a tolerable level in Outlook 2003, and that is a third
party open source program that integrates with Outlook and finishes the job
that Outlook starts.

In other words, I use what works, no matter where it comes from.
