Can anyone tell me why my XP SP1 with Office 2003 has the "OLD" style mail
control panel applet initial front end, whereas other XP machines do not?

I have a problem that is likely due to this, invoking mapi for an
application. I am trying to work out why it is using a "classic" initial
interface (not the control panel itself) not the three button one usually
seen after installation.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled 2003 pro without joy.

Answer: UNinstalled Off2003, plus proj 2002 and visio 2002.
REMOVED the office base folder under programs.
Reinstalled just OFFICE. Now its consistent. Will now add/remove to add word
etc.
