Why do I get extra pages converting word to pdf?

When converting a word document to a pdf file, I get an extra page after a
section break, which only show up in the pdf file. This page does not appear
in the word file and therefore I cannot delete it before converting.
 
Set the PDF driver as the active print driver before making your final check
of the document. The different driver can affect the flow of the document.
