Why do I get a notepad pop up

I had windows ME but then I had ... windows 2000 installed onto my computer *

But my problem is I seem to have this Notepad problem. I am just sitting their and a notepad just pops up nothing is in it its just blank... and it just pops up every few min. I checked my computer for any viruses but I didn't seem to find any and I did a spyware search and I cant seem to stop it from happening, I was wondering if someone could help me?

Did you format the drive between ME and the 2000 install? "Upgrading"
windows ME to Windows 2000 is not a good thing. Clean install Windows 2000.
