Notepad Missing?

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with the notepad in Windows XP Home, when I want a new
notepad, I use the right click option and when the context menu pops up I
click on notepad, I have noticed the notepad icon is missing, and as I use
the notepad quite but it is starting to get really annoying.

If anyone has any ideas, or could point me in the general direction I would
gratefully appreciate the advice.

Many thanks.

Is it in your Context Menu, or do you have to click "Open With" to see
the Notepad program?

Notepad isn't missing. What is missing is the shortcut to it. The shortcut
shows the icon.

It is easy to create a shortcut. In this case, you will find notepad.exe in
C:\windows\system32. Right click on this file, and click the box which
creates a shortcut.
Drag the shortcut to the desktop. You may not like the name, so just rename
it.
You are done.
