1. Right-click on your Desktop and select NEW > SHORTCUT
2. Type in: NOTEPAD.EXE , and click Next.
3. Type in a name for the shortcut, such as "NotePad"
4. Click "Finish".
5. A shortcut to your NotePad program will appear on your desktop.
If the above does not work:
EditPad Lite is an excellent Notepad replacement.
It's a lightweight text editor, but certainly not as bare
as the standard Notepad that comes with Windows.

cannot be run in Win32 mode.". I have used my Notepad before Windows XP has been on my desktop for almost 1.5
years now. It is only now that I am unable to use Notepad.
