Why do bookmarks in my Word Template disappear in the Word Doc?

I have a Word Template with various sections of the text bookmarked. When I
create a Word Document from the Template, the bookmarks are not inserted. Is
there a way to get them to appear on the Word Document?

Are you sure that they are not there? Is the display of bookmarks turned on
under Tools Options View.

Is there some code running when the new document is created?
