Why can't I send large files in Outlook 2007?

I have Vista x64 and when ever I try to send something over about 1-2mb I get
a sending error. It then sits in my outbox and my recipents have reported
getting the email 15 times (until I delete it from my outbox). To the best
of my knowledge it's not an ISP thing. My o/s and outlook 2007 are up to
date, I think.
 
Update:

I have Trend Micro Internet Security Pro and the "scan for threats in both
incoming and out going mail" are selected on.
 
You answered your problem. Disable the email scanning by uninstalling Trend and then
re-installing without the email integration(scanning) Just disabling the scanning
will not do. You need to do as I posted above
