Why can't I post to this newsgroup?

Here's why: I'm on what should be a clone of my main system. I tried to
post to this same newsgroup on my main system and I got a message
something like "You are not authorized to post to this newsgroup).

Yet on this supposedly identical system, it works. Can somebody lead me
to what I can test and compare and correct?? Thank you.

Somewhat later, with no changes, the problem seems to have gone away,
because I just succeeded in posting the same message.

Did you leave the newsreader running on the other host when you tried to
connect to the ES server? If so, perhaps it was doing a new-post poll
(i.e., it connected) which means it logged into your account. Since ES
requires registered accounts that have you login, perhaps they don't
permit multiple logins to the same account.

Since you're using ES as your NNTP server, why not post in their own
support groups to find out if you indeed have a problem, if others have
encountered it, if the owner responds to say he was doing some
maintenance, or if it was just a glitch?
