Why can't I open my e-mail template?

In Outlook 2003, I followed the MS Office Assistance directions and created
an e-mail template. The instructions say that once your template is ready,
to save it as "Outlook Template". I don't have that option in the dropdown,
so I saved it as a Document Template as an alternative. Now in Word, I can
see and open that template, but when I'm in Outlook and go to Choose Form, I
cannot find that template - the template box is blank. Help!

If you want to save a message as an Outlook form template .oft file, you must turn off Word as your editor before you create the message.

Thank you - I went back to the instructions and realized that I had misread
"clear" the Word edit box to be "check" the Word edit box. Serves me right
for not wearing my glasses. I appreciate the help!
