why can i not send email from within Outlook mobile from my pda?

I have recently purchased an MDA Pro from T-mobile. I have been able to
syncronise it with Outlook on my pc. What I just cannot understand is why I
am not able to send email from the phone/pda?! I can set up a POP3 account
separate to Outlook on the phone/pda, and it send email successfully, as it
does with my Hotmail account, so the phone is clearly capable of sending and
receiving email. But I cannot send email from within Outlook on the phone -
instead, when I try to do this it simply puts it in the outbox and waits
until I connect to the PC again and sync, then the pc sends the mail. I
thought the whole idea of having a mobile device and of windows mobile was to
be able to work remotely?! I don't consider having to plug my phone/pda into
my pc at home to send email as being able to work remotely!!! This package
seems to take me 99% of the way to having a great system, but fails with the
last 1% ... am I the only one who thinks this is crazy?! It seems that the
technology is all there but I can't use it ..... ?!?!?!?!?

There maybe a setting or option on your mobile to send the mail, once
written
eg Desktop OL doesnt neccessarily send a mail immediately, unless you have
checked that option.

Milly Staples - MVP Outlook

Have you checked the support forums at T-Mobile? It is not an Outlook
problem you are having but an issue with your phone not being able to send
email.

The thing is it IS an outlook problem, because email sending from pop3 on the
phone or from hotmail isnt a problem. The options to send/receive WITHIN
outlook are unavailable - and i dont understand why.....
What I want to be able to do is to send/receive email from within outlook on
the phone and then the phone and pc can sync and update each other with all
sent and received emails. At the moment to send email I have to sync with my
pc and the pc sends the email from outlook. So I can't actually send email
from outlook on the phone even though I can send and receive email through
setting up a sepatate pop3 account or through hotmail. This just seems so
amazingly rubbish to me. As I said, it somes so close to being a fantastic
system but there is just one little bit that messes it up ... can anyone
help!?

Have to ask; you set up mail account as per the manual instructions?
After writting a msg, followed instructions here
http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=1217

If still no good, suggest you contact Tmobile help line
This phone is not the same as a Blackberry you have to manually send/receive

Well, after much consultation with T-Mobile, it turns out that it is just not
possible to do what I want to do which, to me seems an incredible failure in
the Microsoft software.

Apparently it is simply not possible to send or receive emails from within
the Outlook part of Messaging on Windows Mobile. While it is possible to set
up a pop3 account and send and receive mail, this is not part of Outlook on
the phone.

What has to happen is this:- you have to sync the pda and pc which then
duplicates the data. Then, on the pda you can reply to an email or send a new
email etc etc BUT, when you click on send, it merely puts the email in the
outbox on the phone, then, when you sync with the pc again, the email goes
into the outbox on the PC and gets sent.

Now, if Microsoft think that this constitutes being able to work on the
move, then they need their heads examined!!! As I said before, this is SO
nearly a great system, but it falls at the last hurdle. The phone CAN
send/receive email, but not within Outlook - WHEN WILL THEY FIX THIS
GLARINGLY OBVIOUS PROBLEM?????!!!!!

Obviously not an Outlook problem, but one you should address in a Windows
