Sending SMS from Outlook

To whom it may concern,

Is there a way to send an SMS message to a mobile (cellular) phone from
Outlook, without using an SMS plug-in? I have managed to contact my own
mobile with Outlook, by using a fax message format, i.e., [fax:"phone
number"]. My phone did ring, but when I answered it, I heard the email/fax
server communicating to the mobile. I am presume that this contact indicates
that there is a service available to contact a mobile from a desktop, so I
would like a method of using Outlook to send an SMS message.

TIA

Check with your cell phone provider. Many provide an email address where
you can address SMS messages to.

gives some US examples.

Thanks F.H. My mobile supplier provides a WebNotes service, which I was
unaware of. I will follow it up with them.

Thanks once again.
