His replies are showing up here on my end? Have you tried a different
newsgroup client? Or could be a problem with your news server; try MS's:
news.microsoft.com

Greg

I've had two responses to two messages and they are blank

Are people just doing that for kicks

Can they tell I'm a die hard Lotus 123 fanatic

Using microsoft.public.win2000.general.

And I'm seeing messages on this computer that I wasn't seeing on the other.

Fascinating, hmmm?

Imagine me, with mission critical server that won't boot, the manufacturer and the OS vendor couldn't care less and the only source of information I can find on the internet is in this funky tool that only shows posts when it feels like it

<growls

Thanks

robot - as GH points out Pegasus is a frequent, knowledgeable poster in
this all-volunteer forum. MS only provides the server capability, and
very rarely but sometimes MS people will toss in a response. There's got
to be some problem at your end. For some reason, the substance of
whatever Pegasus' responses were is being stripped out. Maybe some
setting in an antivirus/malware filter on your machine is misbehaving? I
can imagine your frustration. One in 1000 posts here are blank, always
by mistake... and never from Pegasus.

Big mystery, but I see eventually you & P did communicate...

I suspect it is either the news reader, ISP, or news server that "Robot"
uses.

I have yet to see a blank post from Pegasus - and because of Robot
I just checked Pegasus's most recent *407* posts to this newsgroup.

Hi

From the header of on of the postings from robot smiff:

X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000

That means robot doesn't use a news reader/server to access the
newsgroups, he is using the not so good Web Interface that
Microsoft provides to the newsgroups.

Here is the URL to the microsoft.public.win2000.general group:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsser...ault.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.win2000.general

When this interface sometimes have a problem, you get
"Message unavailable" messages.
