Why am I given the choice Windows XP Pro and XP Pro#1 ?

Hi,

When I get to a black screen sometimes, I am given the option to open
Win XP or Win XP #1.

Where did the #1 come from and what one do I choose ?

This can happen if you reinstalled XP, or inadvertently wound up with two
installations.

Click Start, Run and enter C:\BOOT.INI

This will open your BOOT.INI file in Notepad. Remove the reference to the
second installation and then save the file. If you're not sure of what
you're doing, post the contents of your BOOT.INI here.
