:: my system is slowing down huugely, and no AV picks up anything, but when
I look atr the connection status (im running on a dial up 56K) then it shows
a huge disparity between what I have downloaded and uploaded. Currently
after an hour of connection and looking at about ten pages and sending three
emails it says "Received
3.5 Meg, Sent 10 Meg"

Now even with send those small emails, that ain't right. I've got Kazaa
running, but nothing is uploading (as I disabled it to check if it was
that). So obviously it's doing something in the background it shouldn't...
But as the system doesn't detect anything, I don't really know where to
start!

Has anyone else found this? Any advice?

1) Dump Kazaa before it dumps you. If you must share files, get the
pirated version (8>.) without the spyware in.

2) www.security.kolla.de .. get/run spybit S&D. Maybe also Ad-aware 6.0
from www.lavasoftusa.com.

3) Get your ports checked (i.e. visit the symantec site, or 'shieldsup',
or whatever). If you are running wide open, someone is probably
harvesting your whole disk.
