Hi,

When I click START -TURN OFF COMPUTER, a small dialog box pops up and
reads that " 'RECENT' is a systems file and it cannot be deleted" I
didn't want to delete it!! Where did this ever come from? Can I ever
get rid of it or am I stuck with it?

Not a big deal, not even a nuisance...I'm just curious! I click OK,
and then the TURN OFF, button to shut down.

Thanks, always, for the great help!

Mike

Do you have a 'cleaning' program that is set to function at shut down??
Heirloom, old and must check temps

I think Heirloom nailed it. You have some kind of Privacy or Internet Tracks
Cleaner that's set to clear your Recent file (and others) on shutdown. Check
its settings.
