white text when pasting from the internet

Tricia

Hi if I highlight some text on a web page and copy and paste it into a word
document it always pastes it as white text and I have to highlight it and
click on the text colour icon and select automatic. This happens all the
time even when I have some text in the word document and it is black. Any
suggestions?
Word Xp and windows XP Pro
Thanks Tricia

Hi,
When you paste some text into the word document, you would see an icon
below the pasted text that is a replica of the paste button on the toolbar.
When you hover the mouse over this icon, you would see a drop down list.
You can select "apply destination style" or "apply destination formatting"
from this drop down list. or even "keep text only"
If you select "keep text only" it doesnt keep the original formatting and
uses the defaults font and color for the document you are pasting into.
You do not need to select the entire section just pasted, this applies to
the entire pasted section.

Hope this helps.
Regards

Edit, Paste Special -- choose "unformatted text"

That will strip all of the HTML formatting and just paste the text
