Which System Should I Use?

A client has merged with a second firm. The second firm is running Novell's Netware. I would like to covert them to Windows Server but am not sure which version I should buy. There are 20 users at this branch. They will be using the server mainly as a file server, but I plan on bringing up a VPN to connect the two sites and to install Exchange. I thought about Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition but didn't want to spend more than I had to.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rich

Rich,

2000 or 2003 would most likely work either way. You purchase MSDSS
(Microsoft Directory Synchronization Service) to migrate users, group and
files over from the Novell to Windows. If you use 2000 apply SP1 to MSDSS,
if you use 2003 apply SP2 to MSDSS.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/sfn/msdss.asp for a Technical Overview
of MSDSS.

Would stick with Win2003 Standard if I were you, unless you're going to get
into the business of building clusters etc.
