which road to travel?

excess is best

i just built a new PC comprised of med. to high-end
hardware. i'm running ME on my old PC and want to save a
few $ and get an XP Pro retail upgrade.

can anyone tell me which is easier: installing the
upgrade on the OLD PC and 'trying' to transfer the XPP
license to the NEW PC? or trying to xfer ME license AND
O/S compatability to an Athlon XP 3200 Barton 400Mhz on
the NEW PC?

.....and will i be able to ghost everything to XP with
minimal error/loss with either option?

mobo: Soyo KT600 Dragon Ultra Pl.
Mem: (2) Corsair 512Mb DDR DIMM 400
HD: WD Caviar 80G SATA
HD ext.: WD 250G USB2
Proc: AMD AthlonXP 3200 400Mhz
Audio: Audiology 2Z Plat. Pro.
Vid: Asus Radeon 9800 Pro

thanks for any advice.

If you have a Microsoft ME cd, you can install XP straight to your new pc,
inserting the ME cd when asked for proof of a previous OS.. this does not
work with recovery cds however..
