Which Port to open on NAT

J

James

my office has a NAT. I am tring to connect to one of the
PC behind the router using Remote Desktop. I have mapped
3389 to the internal IP of the PC. But it still dosen't
work. Is 3389 a TCP port or a UDP port? do i need to open
another port

Thanks

You should do both TCP and UDP if possible. The main RDP protocol is
through TCP 3389, but it also tries to use UDP 3389 for virtual
channels and audio redirection...

Try double checking your internal IP address and if your local machine
has a firewall enabled that is blocking access.

Also, to connect to your machine, you need to use the public IP
address that is assigned to your NAT box.
