I used System Recovery CD to resize the hard drive partitions recently to
install Vista in a dual boot set up with XP SP2, and its free:
* New! Windows Vista
* Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
* Windows XP SP 2
* Windows 2000 Professional SP 4
* Windows NT 4.0 Workstation SP 6
* Windows Me
* Windows 98 SE
Yes. If you are wanting to resize a partition on a hard drive with a free
utilities, GParted on the System Recovery CD is good.
I also used this utility on a computer where I had Vista already installed
using 100% of the drive and used GParted on the System Recovery CD to resize
the partition down. In this situation Vista would not boot because of a MBR
issue. I had to boot on Vista's DVD to perform a Repair -- the repair took
less than a minute -- and restarted Vista. I expected this issue after
resizing the partition with Vista.
