Apologies if im posting this in the wrong place but i'm about to start a
microsoft course supporting xp and vista, desktop technician.... At the
moment i'm only running xp at home so i need to purchase a copy of Vista and
install it onto a fresh partition which i have. Will I need to buy vista
business or will Vista home be sufficient? Also is there anytthing else i
might need to bare in mind? Will a dual boot xp vista system work ok? I
previously had win 7 evaluation o.s on my pc and after removing this the boot
loader was still present? Will this effect my installation?

Gee, I think I would start by asking the instructor what operating systems
to use for his course. It is his course after all. If this is an automated
online course, I would head to "Contact Us" on the website.

Hi Mark thanks for the advice. Maybe you're right i should email the
instructor but the college isn't open till september when the course starts.
Its not online. Its a fairly new course supporting Vista and all. I was just
hoping seeing as microsoft certified personel use this site they would be
able to tell me? Ok

This isn't a hang out for MCSE technicians, nor is it an official MS
group. It's a P2P Usenet group.

Surely there must be someone at the administrative office that can relay
information to the instructor. I'm sure he or the college would be more than
happy to provide you with that information and whatever text books are
necessary. I am surprised that the course description doesn't provide some
information regarding the requirements.

Yes Mark you are right they should
and Sonny i don't need your comments. P2P is completely something else? This
Forum/ Newsgroups is for question concerning microsoft o.s which this is if
you hadn't noticed. I was introduced to this place on a previous course and
it would be alot better without idiots like you telling people they are in
the wrong place, who are quite frankly un-informative and rude. Its you thats
in the wrong place not me

He is telling you its a peer-to-peer newsgroup. Not where certified techs
hang out.

FYI: Usually, when a "course" on operating systems is offered, the
"vocational" school could / would possible have access to the
"academic" offerings of Microsoft products. However. these
"requirements" and "offerings" must usually be "outlined" in the
course description.

Why is there always some idiot on here trying to tell us what this is? Save
your breath. I know what this is I was introduced to this site by a skilled
microsoft comptia and cisco lecturer. Save you're petty crap for someone.
You're not Microsoft personnel? You're a nobody without any good answers
