Where's the "show desktop" icon?

I have a Windows XP Pro system and we just received a new pc with Windows XP
home system on it. The pro system has always had a little icon in the lower
left of the try called "show desktop" which would minimize all open windows.
I find it very, very handy. There is no such icon on the new home system.
Is there a way to get it to show there too?

Right-click the taskbar, Toolbars, click 'Quick Launch' to display it.

You have to enable the Quick Launch toolbar.
Right click an open spot on your Taskbar.
Select Properties from the menu.
On the Taskbar tab, make sure there's a check mark in the box
next to "Show Quick Launch".
Click OK.
The Quick Launch toolbar, with the Show Desktop icon, should
now be displayed next to the Start button.

Good luck

You don't actually need the icon. Pressing the windows key + d does the same
thing.
