XP Internet Activity System Tray Icon question

E

elfa

Looking for a simple program that puts an icon in the system tray and shows
whenever there's Internet activity.

I have Zone Alarm but since upgrading to ver 10.1.065, the new versions' icon is
no longer animated to show activity and I can't get the old version back.

Any recommendations out there? I have Win XP SP3

much appreciated

XP comes with that built in.
Local area connection / status / show icon

I think I assumed elfa was asking for - and you offering - something
that showed the _level_ of activity in the tray; re-reading what you
both said, you weren't, only the existence thereof - which it does
indeed show. (I guess I was thinking of something like the Task Manager
tray icon, which shows the _level_ of [CPU in its case, I think] activity.)

Try searching for
"network activity indicator" xp -7 -drive tray

I use the Win 7 one from itsamples.com for my Win7 machine
since Win7 does not come with a network activity monitor.
When you right click on it in systray, it can show lots of
network things.
I have not tried the 7 version on xp. It may be for 7 only.

Tcpview is a nice little packet monitor from sysinternals.com
but is not meant for systray use.
