Where to download the high speed USB 2.0 driver from?

I used to have an .exe file that installed the enhanced high speed USB 2.0
driver for XP. It seems XP SP2 doesn't detect that my MB supports USB 2.0
and in the device manager, I don't get the 'enhanced...' controller, just
the standard. I have searched MS's site but couldn't find it. The site just
says it's in the service pack but the service pack doesn't install it.

Drivers/chipset/mobo-type stuff need to be obtained from the hardware
manufacturer...have you tried their website for updates?

"9/9/2004 Windows XP Service Pack 2 Gets Confused with USB 2.0

When you upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 2, Microsoft says the USB 2.0
drivers will appear with the earlier version numbers. However, Microsoft
does say the files have been updated. Microsoft does have a series of steps
on how to reinstall the drivers at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=873169
However they also say you can just unplug any of your USB device, and then
plug them back in. This should start the Plug and Play utility, and you can
pray that this will update the driver numbers correctly"

Q: " I've installed SP2 and have problems accessing my USB digital Camera
with the associated camera software. Help? "
A: There are reported USB 2.0 issues after the initial SP2 install. You may
need to unplug / re-plug the device to get XP to recognize the device and
reinstall the driver. If this doesn't resolve your problem, check the
manufacturer's web site for a driver update. A systematic approach to USB
troubleshooting is explicitly detailed in my SP2 guide.

Their site says it comes with XP SP1. That was of no help because SP2
didn't add it. Anyways, it was an XP repair install which somehow removed
the enhanced driver. I had XP manually search thr drivers folder and it
found it.

Thanks.

Thanks for the help. I was able to fix it.

There was an update for SP1 USB 2.0 drivers (which I think later formed
the basis of SP2) - see
