Where should Keyboard appear?

Could someone please explain why my 'Microsoft USB Internet Keyboard'
appears under two different headings in WinXP Device Manager?

Keyboards
Human Interface Devices

as shown here:

What prompts this query is that I'm trying to fix a problem with the
keyboard: the My Computer and Calculator keys no longer work. So any
thoughts on that would be much appreciated please. I wonder if the two
queries are connected...

Have you installed any drivers for the keyboard. Although I assume XP would
have drivers built in for a microsoft keyboard you never know. Also have you
checked the number lock is on.

That is normal (re the two entries in your device manager).

As for your keys, did you install the value added software for your
keyboard? For example, for Microsoft's keyboards, that would be Intellitype
Pro, for Logitech, that would be iTouch or SetPoint..
