I just had my hard drive moved to a new pc. I was using Outlook 2000 and
will now be using Outlook 2003. I cannot find the .pst file on my old hard
drive. I have searched the entire drive using a search for a *.pst file.
Did Outlook 2000 not use a .pst file? Where should the file be located that
contains all my Outlook 2000 information?

Thanks,

Chris

It's a hidden file so you must expand your search to include all hidden and
system files.

Thank you Mary. I expanded my search still to no avail. I'm concerned
because many of the documents and folders under 'documents and settings' do
not appear to still be resident on the drive. If the Outlook .pst file is
supposed to be there, it may no longer be in existence. Is the .pst file
storec under 'documents and settings"?

It's in C:\documents & settings\your name\Local Settings\Application
Data\microsoft\Outlook and it's named Outlook.pst. Don't forget to change
your basic search options as well as change your View settings in Folder
Options to show all hidden and system folders.

What do you mean your hard drive was moved? If the whole hard drive is now on
a different computer and the new computer recognizes the drive, just open
Outlook 2003, go to File, Open, Outlook Date File and see if the new Outlook
can find it on the old drive and open it.
