I'm trying to set up my email account and dont know the server info such as
pop3 ect

please help!
Thanks

Who do you have an email account with?
Comcast?
Roadrunner?
AOL?
Yahoo?
Gmail?

Check with their support webpage. They should tell you there.
If it's a web mail account, like Hotmail, forget it.

Contact your ISP for your pop and smtp server addresses.

Forget Yahoo too in some territories.
The free Yahoo in the USA being one.

If it is a free account, and you reside in the US, then the account only
has web access, no POP access.
Chances are, your ISP assigned you a POP account. Who is your ISP?
Yahoo is not an ISP, only a mail provider.

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties,
then Servers. Click at the end of what you want to change, then backspace
over it, then type in the new information. At the end of the change, click
on
Apply and then OK.

Ask your email provider for their instructions if you need correct
server names, or tell us who your email provider is and see if anyone
here already knows where to find the instructions.

ok after i get this information where do I put it? is all I need the smtp
server names (inbound and outbound)? and type of mail I have now which is
hotmail.com. do I need the actual server names and their IP addresses?

Your e-mail provider should have a web page that gives step by step
instructions on how to set up your e-mail. They are all different and all
there. You need to find it, load all the information carefully, and
completely and you should be up and running. Let us know how it turns out.

I,m sorry I have tried everyones different suggestions, even yours robert .IT
DOESN'T WORK. It will not except any pop3 or smtp or the co-orisponding
numbers.Live mail doesn't work nor does the windows mail.I am half tempted to
pull the VISTA crap out and put XP in to my new tower unit.I had less head
aches with XP.
I will keep it if some one will email my old account with the correction
that vista will except (e-mail address removed)

Who is your email service provider (this isusually your Internet Service
Provider)?
