I think the speeds of CPUs are not increasing like they did before...
I mean we are stuck for some time with Pentium 4s that are 3.8 ghz.
where are the pentium 5's?
Where are the 10 Ghz chips?
Intel painted themselves into a corner. They've been marketing
their CPUs on the basis of megahertz speeds. Higher is presented
in their ads as better. Now they've reached a situation where they
can't get much faster without having their CPUs generate more heat
than can easily be handled. They are in the process of taking a
different approach to designing (and marketing) their processors,
one that imitates the approach of AMD. You won't be hearing as
much about increased megahertz speeds from Intel from now on.
