where are my old messages ?

In Windows Mail, old messages have disappeared from their folders.

But they are not really gone. If I run a search by date, they are listed in
the search window.
I can even click on a single message and read it.

I need my old messages back in their folders, for cleaning purposes.

Can anyone help ??

You probably have the " Hide Read Messages " activated. Try the following
:- -
View > Current view > put a checkmark on " Show all messages"

Correction :
What I meant was : click on the folder from which old messages had
disappeared, then click View > Current View > click Show All Messages
