when saving a file the dialog box defaults to thumbnail takes FOR EVER

I have extensive pics in a directory and when I save a new pic the
dialog defaults to thumbnail view for the files in the directory
already. This takes liek 10 seconds to load. I often end up right
click and selecting list before it finishes. This gets old. How do I
make it default to list view? I already have all flders showing list
view by default.

The open/save dialog will default to thumbnails only for the 'My Pictures' & 'My Videos' folders &
their subfolders. All other folders default to list view. So if you want the list view default,
move the folder out of the above-mentioned folders. If you want the folder browseable from My
Pictures, you can place it elsewhere and put a folder shortcut in My Pictures.

Create a special "Folder Shortcut" by opening the start menu folder (right-click Start button ->
Open), along with the folder containing the folder you want a shortcut to. Right-click & drag the
folder to the start menu folder, & when you release the button, choose "create shortcut here."

If you view the properties for this shortcut, you will see it only has one tab & describes itself as
"Folder." You can then cut & move this shortcut to wherever you like and it will behave like a
"real" folder in Open/Save dialogs.
