when phone rings the computer automatically starts

Every time the phone rings or when we answer a call and
then hang up the phone the computer automatically starts
up. I have no idea how to stop this happening. Help !!!!

your computer and modem supports wake on ring. should be something in the
modem properties that will allow you to turn it off.

Actually, the Wake on Ring (or similar setting) is in the BIOS. Consult your computer's manual for instructions on accessing the BIOS and changing this particular setting to Disabled.

hi thanks for your reply. Ive gone through the modem
properties and there is nothing in there. Any other ideas.
