When I select "save as" or "save" in Word, nothing happens--help

I am using MS 2003 now and cannot save a new document or revise a saved one.
The option to save just isn't there anymore when I select it. I have checked
the options under tools to make sure it is saving as a .doc.

From the description, it appears either that your menu has become corrupted,
or that it's an expiration/activation issue. If you choose (from the menu)
Help - Activate Product, what does it tell you?
