When I launch Excel my Windows Installer keeps trying to install Microsoft Office

This problem just began a couple of days ago.

I was having problems with my Outlook 2002 and I had considered
installing Office 2007. I downloaded the trial but never actually
installed it. I since fixed my Outlook 2002 problem without installing
any new software, yet I keep getting the Windows Installer trying to
install Microsoft Office when I click on any Excel icon.

This doesn't happen any other Office program (Word, Access,
Powerpoint, etc.)

Does anyone have any ideas?

which version of office does it want to install? if the old version, let it
run. the installed is messed up and letting it finish usually fixes it.
