When I import video clips the sound plays but you cant see the vid

I saved the video from my camcorder onto my computer, saved it into the My
Videos folder, then tried to import it into Movie Maker. However, when I try
to play the clips, you can hear the sound, but the preview screen remains
black.

I think I might need to download some sort of video-viewing driver or codec?

You don't say what camcorder o what sort of file it is. I guess it's an
incompatible file type, so this should help
