Hi all,
I have a lab situation at a chool in jersey and we have mandatory profiles
setup for our lab accounts. While testing it I came upon something curious.

It was my understanding that mandatory profiles are updated every time that
user logs in but it look like every time I make a change on the desktop and
log out and log back in the change does not go away. Only when I restart
the machine does the mandatory profile get downloaded from the server. The
profiles are on average 60mb.

Is there anyway to change this or is this by design to minimize network
traffic?? Thanks,

sabir.

I don't know the answer to your question, but it is my understanding that
the profiles are updated when the user logs *out*, not when they log in. The
profile is updated upon logout, and when they log in, it uses the new
profile (which has not changed since last logout, because they weren't
logged in to make any changes...you still with me?)

Ken,
That is not happening. Because if that were true then the icons that I
created on the desktop should have disappeared but they did'nt.
I am not sure if I made a mistake or this is by design. Thanks for the
reply and sorry about the cross post.

Do you have the GP parameter set to Delete Cached copies
of Roaming profiles enabled? If so, this should occur
when the user logs off.
